Movie: The Blue Planet: Ocean World

"The great waves that roll in toward the shores are dramatic demonstrations of its power Waves originate far out at sea There even gentle breezes can cause ripples and ripples grow into swells Out into the open ocean unimpeded by land such swells can become gigantic"

A Deep and poetic stanza, which came from gentle voice of David Attenborough. Observing the life underwater always amazes me. The beautiful blues that radiate the different parts of the ocean, the massive size of whales, and the inter connection of the inhabitants. Makes the sea absolutely breath taking. The movie Blue Planet Ocean World demonstrated how far and how smart these creatures are when it comes to their survival. Watching this movie gave me a sense of the sea's delicate structure. One segment, showed the Costa Rican turtles storming the beaches, taking up so much space on the beach. That they had to crawl over each other. Imagine watching that in real life. Anyways, thousands of turtles emerge from the sea, dig holes and lay there eggs on the beach. There is more to this story. The turtles wait till the moon is in its last phase so that tides wont wash away their buried eggs. Pretty ingenious but there is more, they all lay there eggs at the same time. This causes potential predators to be overwhelmed by thousands of helpless baby turtles that will eventually hatch. This simple but well thought out act, increases the survival rate of the young turtles. I never get sick of watching ocean documentaries. It could be about sharks destroying their prey but I somehow think it is so peaceful. I guess I am crazy. Observing the life under sea will help any one respect the oceans of this world. I wont get preachy but if you don't know why we shouldn't pollute or save water check out this flick.
